Cyber Law deals with the legal issues of the web use and all devices connected over the network, their correct use to forestall and control cyber crimes. Since the web is all around the world the guidelines and laws are a bit cloudy but we want to bear in mind some things to make sure that we are using the web in a correct and safe way without causing any trouble.
1. The Net's jurisdictional limits might not be clear but the users are bound by the jurisdictional laws of the area in which they live.
2. Don't access websites that might not be licensed by the jurisdiction in your neighborhood.
3. Don't post any offensive material which will cause a shock among other net users. Articles with an offensive tone on delicate subjects like faith, politics etc, Uploading kid porn and other offensive materials is thought of as a crime in several states and is punishable relying on the nation's laws.
4. Unlawfully downloading and distributing protected items like intellectual property and copyrighted articles is a cyber crime and those that are caught joining in such acts can be prosecuted.
5. Reproduction of content or software from CDs and DVDs that are copyrighted and distribution of these online is punishable.
6. Taking user info (phishing) and impersonating a user (I.D theft) are serious cyber crimes.
7. Sending bulk messages that will affect networks and jam mailboxes is named spamming. The US introduced CAN-SPAM Act t in 2003 that permits prosecution of spammers.
8. Sending malignant codes like viruses and worms through sites and emails is a cyber crime that may cause heavy damages and anybody caught taking part in the act can be seriously punished.
9. Any site that permits users to download materials without taking correct authorizations can be prosecuted or perhaps be made to shut down.
10. Illegal bank transactions thru web, to any perilous people who might threaten state security is a cyber crime that'll be thought about as a break of countrywide security and those caught joining in such acts can be punished by the governing body. Although the Cyber Laws aren't very clear to each one the rise in cyber crime rate has pushed many Govt to introduce Acts that would rule the cyber-space at least inside their jurisdictions. The governments of USA, UK, Canada and China have imposed Cyber Laws to govern Cyber crimes. The other states that have followed in introducing Cyber laws are India, Australia, Malaysia, Iran, Iraq, and Thailand and so on. Among all of these countries China appears to be the strictest in its laws concerning the use of the web.
