A Family Battle for L’Oreal Fortune

A Chief share holder Liliane Bettencourt of the famous cosmetic company L’Oreal has a bitter battle in family for billions fortune. Her Daughter Francoise Bettencourt-Meyers has taken a legal action against a society photographer for accepting gift worth €1 billion from her 86 year old mother. This legal action was taken in court of Nanterre in west of Paris. The judge of court is baffled that whether Ms Bettencourt-Meyer sued on photographer or a criminal complaint made against Francois-Marie Banier.
Ms Meyer claim that Mr. Banier, 62, purportedly manipulating her mother who is mentally fragile. On 3 September 2009, the lawyers were discussed about mental health of one of European greatest fortune Ms Bettencourt.
The judge found a cause for proceeding because the investors found that Mr. Banier had accepted gifts and cheques worth $1.6 billion from 1996. In these gifts some good paintings of Matisse and Picasso are included; Mr. Banier was also requested for funds because Mr. Banier is a member of New York and Paris art world; this is reported by staff of Ms Bettencourt’s house of Neuilly-Sur-Seine.
Ms Bettencourt-Meyers said in criminal offence that Mr. Banier is making use of her mother’s weakness because her mother is thinking to share her facilities and rights of €11 billion fortune in her intimates. The prosecutor raises the point against Ms Bettencourt-Meyers that Ms Bettencourt had not put her words against Mr. Banier so her daughter have no rights to take any legal action.
